Pain Quotidien
Pain Quotidien, meaning “Daily Bread” in French, is the short film made in my collaborative animation class in the Spring of 2024. As a team of 10 students we were tasked to create a 1 minute short film in 8 weeks. We decided to base our story in Lacoste, France as we were doing a study abroad program there at the time. In the short we follow a boy named Crouton as he chases a dog that has stolen his bread.
For this project I was the Technical Director and oversaw most of the tech team’s process throughout the project. I helped my teammates by showing them how to effectively use modeling tools and make sure to use correct topology when creating models. I also modeled and UV’d several prop models, rigged the dog, textured a couple props, created a base environment light setup for both the interior and exterior of the scene, worked on and lead teammates through character and beauty lighting, oversaw sampling and render setup, and added depth of field in nuke after renders were done.
